NFL Picks for Bets and Contests

It’s hard to believe there are only 3 weeks left in the 2023 NFL season. Even though certain times the season has seemed like an eternity, now that the end is near it feels like the 2023 season has gone by in a blink.

Last week got off to a rough start. What looked like a MIN outright win ended up in OT and my entry card with a push. That’s what normally happens when you have 2 red zone interceptions. Those trips should’ve ended with at least 3 points, and a W on the card for me, but the backup QB carousel in MIN had a different idea.

It didn’t get much better with PIT at IND. The return of MVP Mitch as the starting QB with Pickett injured didn’t do much good. It’s no wonder that guy was ran out of Chicago. He will make a good living as a backup QB for the next 7 years, but has constantly shown he is not a guy you want leading your team to battle each week. Luckily the Saturday night game got me a W with DET cruising over DEN.

Sunday started out much better, getting a W in both early games with Carolina and New Orleans. The weather definitely helped in the CAR game, and I’m glad K Pinero doesn’t mind a wet turf as he kicked CAR to victory. New Orleans played strong, with the defense getting to NYG QB Devito, and the 2nd W of the day was in.

The afternoon games were mixed. With the run game of Cooks, BUF dominated DAL, and that game was never in doubt. The AZ/SF game was another matter. I was hopeful that AZ would be able to get the back door cover, but going for it on 4th down at your own 30 in the 4th quarter squashed that as SF kicked the field goal and sealed the cover. I should’ve written this game off when SF defense got the pick 6, but there was too much time left in the game then.

In all my picks went 4-2-1 last week, but sadly my entries only went 2-2-1, as the 3 games I played on both cards went a pathetic 0-2-1. Man I wish I would’ve put MIN, DET, CAR, NO and BUF on a card for a 4-0-1 entry. Maybe then I’d still have a chance at the last quarter prize in the Circa, but 2-2-1 instead sealed that fate for me too.
