NFL Picks for Bets and Contests

It wasn’t a good start to the Sunday last week, as the early games buried me. At one point my picks were sitting 3-0, but then all hell broke loose. The Jets could not get it going on offense. They took a lot of shots deep down the sidelines, and if they didn’t complete one of those tosses the offense wasn’t going anywhere. It’s a shame too, because the defense was playing lights out, and even scored 2 points with a safety.

New Orleans offense sputtered out the gates, and before the Saints could even blink they were down 21-0. They did manage to fight back, and at one point was covering, but the defense continued to struggle down the stretch and allowed 1 field goal too many for the cover.

The Tennessee game was a different story, this was the game I thought was going to be a win for sure. Despite having not 1 but 2 blocked punts (I know 1 was ruled a fumble, but that was simply because the defended knocked the ball out of the punters hand before he even had a chance to kick it), Tennessee still had a chance to win this game. But then the worst thing that could happen, happened. Tennessee missed the extra point, Indy got the field goal to tie and force overtime. TEN got the ball first in OT and looked like they were going to score a TD, but the drive stalled and they had to settle for the FG. IND QB Minshew then hit WR Pierce deep for the 2nd or 3rd time in the game and I knew it was over. IND got the TD, the win and the cover and I was sitting 0-3.

Luckily, the afternoon and SNF games went my way, and I was able to break even on the day at 3-3. Let’s hope that afternoon and SNF magic continues this week, with a little MNF magic too. I’m heavy on the afternoon and primetime games. Here are 6 contest picks for week 14:
