NFL Survivor 2025 Week 13
Week 12 was almost the end of my survivor season. I had backed Detroit at home against the NY Giants and QB Winston. My thought was the Lions coming off a loss the week before, and Winston’s propensity to throw interceptions would allow for an easy win. I didn’t account for the Lions to struggle offensively after suffering some o-line injuries the last few weeks. The good news is the Lions came back and won in overtime, so I move on for another week.
The Thanksgiving Day games didn’t offered 2 divisional matchups and the Chiefs at Cowboys. The Ravens at home as a 7 point favorite were the only game that could be an option, but because it was a divisional game it didn’t match all of my criteria as a play. Hopefully you were able to stay off the Ravens too since they lost.
There are 6 games with a line of 6 points or more still on the schedule, including todays Bears at Eagles game. The LA Rams look like an easy selection as a 10.5 point favorite at the 1 win Titans. I imagine this will be a highly selected option among contestants, but I’ll pass on this because it’s a road game and the Titans have looked surprisingly frisky the last few weeks. The other LA team, the Chargers are another solid option this week as they host the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders offense continues to struggle and lead to the firing of OC Kelly. I’m not sure that will be enough to ignite the Raiders offense, but this is also a divisional game, and they usually play out tougher than people imagine (Bengals beating the Ravens as a 7 point dog).
Besides picking a winner this week, there lies another challenge, what teams remain for the rest of the season. The number of weeks remaining on the season is getting shorter, and the picks are getting harder. Examining the remaining schedules of certain teams to try and find the best week to make them a survivor pick also must be completed on a weekly basis this time of year. That’s why I’m going with the Seahawks this week against the Vikings. It fits all of my criteria: a large favorite that the New Mexico model likes, it’s a non-divisional game and I’m backing the home team. Add the fact that Minnesota will be playing it’s undrafted rookie quarterback also helps. I imagine the Seahawks will be a big pick this week in survivor contests, at least for any person that hasn’t used them already.
What teams are you taking this week and why? Let me know in the comments.
